CAST (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE)
NOTE: All are Black. The enslaved men should be dressed as slaves, but not objectified or overly degraded. They have fought to maintain their dignity.
NDYADYANE (20s) A kidnapped, trafficked fisherman from Ghana.
JOBAH (20s) A kidnapped, trafficked warrior-leader from Ghana. The men are friends.
DILSEY (20s) Black, Dressed like a southern gentleman, but without shoes. He carries an empty pistol.
SETTING
The hold of the friendly seas slave ship. Recently emptied except for our characters, it is dark, acrid and foul.

She’s been commissioned by A Different Myth (Asheville, NC), Lifeline Theater (Chicago), the Lucille Lortel Foundation/Harlem9/National Black Theatre (NYC), Ohlone College and SCI@SPARC (Livermore, CA). Honors include the AGE Legacy Award, L.B. Williams Festival (New Circle Theatre Company), and Humanitas’ PLAY LA.
